I had the chance to do pictures of these sweetest little twin boys. I actually wanted twins when I was growing up. Doesn’t everyone at some point? Then I had a child and realized how insane that would actually be. I struggled to get pregnant with my third child. When I finally got pregnant I went in for a very early ultrasound and found he had had a twin but the twin wasn’t viable. Suddenly the dream I didn’t even know I still wanted was crushed. Sorry, that’s kind of deep. But it really is another reason I love what I get to do so much. When I was going through infertility my newborn sessions were even that much more special to me. Although it was difficult to watch these mamas get what I wanted so much, it was also so comforting. So comforting to hold those sweet angels in my arms and provide images to help parents remember this fleeting moment. I really didn’t start writing this post expecting it to end up here but I do want you to understand that I handle your sweet babies with the most tender care.

It took me till the end of the session to remember which of these boys was which. But I’ve got it figured out now. See if you can find their differences. 🙂

I often get asked “Do I need to bring anything to my newborn’s session?” The answer is NO! One of my favorite parts of newborn photography is sourcing beautiful organic props from many vendors local and around the world. I love finding unique and textured pieces that add that little bit of extra to your photos.

From organic sheeps wool, to cute headbands and bonnets, to handmade miniature baby beds, I have something sure to suit your tastes. And maybe you don’t like any of that stuff at all, and that’s ok too! Many mommas opt to focus on just their sweet little newborn, without any props at all. I strive to make your session just want you want it to be. If you do have an item you want incorporated just let me know ahead of time and I’m always happy to include it. Grandma’s vintage quilt, that sweet embroidered onesie you made yourself, a favorite lovie, whatever it is it will make your newborn photos extra special! My Bluffdale, Utah studio is also stocked with newborn diapers and wipes, snacks and drinks for mom and dad, and a comfy couch to relax on. I have Netflix and a really incredible park down the street if you have other children that need to be here for the entirety of the session. I really won’t need your help much so be sure to bring whatever you’d like to entertain yourself while you’re here. It’s a perfect time to get those thank you notes written!

Could 9 day old Maopa be any sweeter? I mean, that grin!! She was the perfect little model for me.

Isn’t Lewis a total doll baby? All of that hair. Oh he was just the sweetest. His mama wanted to keep things very natural for their session. She wasn’t a fan of the little outfits, or covering up too much of that sweet baby, and really can you blame her? I love props and always try to keep my props very timeless and natural but I also want to respect the wishes of my clients and just want them to be happy with their images. Take a minute and relish the back fuzz of this sweet baby boy.

Victoria | Salt Lake City Newborn Photographer

Sweet Victoria was such a good baby for her newborn session. Her family traveled from Salt Lake which is about a 25 minute drive South to my Bluffdale studio. Her cute brother and sister were so well behaved and sat and played with toys in the waiting area the entire time I was doing the shoot. I couldn’t believe all of this baby girl’s hair! So thick and dark. All my babies are total toe heads so I love when I get a dark haired baby in the studio. I thought that the peach and sage color scheme went so beautifully with her dark skin. If this doesn’t make you baby hungry, I don’t know what will!

Aren’t they such a beautiful family? Victoria was really one of the best newborns I’ve done pictures of!

Pink and Gold Milestone Session | Bluffdale Child Photographer

I just love the year milestone session! One year olds are just so full of personality. The amount of facial expressions we can capture in just 30 minutes is so fun! Whether you choose a mini session, a full hour session, or you’ve purchased my baby plan we will work together to find the perfect theme for your child’s pictures. Pink and gold is such a popular theme for a little Princess. Such a sweet combo!
